Hi, and welcome to our display tips area. We hope to make this an area for both new collectors and those of us who have been collecting for a number of years. We welcome any and all ideas from our customers and we hope to have different sections, such as water, trees, mountains etc. here eventually.

The pictures above are mainly for the new collector. One very simple, easy way to add some realism, and also improve the views of your  display is to create various heights for the houses. As a base 2 inch styrofoam is an excellent choice. Then you can use thinner pieces to raise the houses to different levels. This is available at most home improvement stores (Lowes, Home Depot, 84 Lumber etc.) This styrofoam can be glued, taped or held together with floral pins (available at Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's and Michaels).

The background in the top pictures is a vinyl sheet with a snowy mountain and forest print. These are usually called scene setters, or party theme setters and can be found easily by a google or yahoo search. One site that does carry them is Oriental Trading Co.
